Hope is in the air

The wonders of creation

Can you hear feel the warmth?

TimeRiver flows frozen
Birds like to dance in the sky
Another year past

Nightthe moon is outside
water rushes from the sky
my universe cries

NightThe darkness of night
Made complete obscurity,
Then comes daylight.

I feel the wind blow—

Frothy white waves soothe
Troubled minds. I scrunch my toes—

The concept of this piece came to me immediately, but I sat on it a month before I fleshed it out into a proper haiku.

A delightful haiku, aiming to present a slightly bittersweet portrait - the overshadowing of the beautiful flower by the coming of Autumn. The phrase revel in fleeting glory seems like an oxymoron, how can one revel in something so fleeting? - but that's fitting as an ode to the beauty of the display.

Conveying the idea in the phrase you pointed out was something I struggled with for a while. That's the wonderful challenge in haiku, and meeting that challenge successfully was very rewarding. That's amongst the many reasons I chose to focus on haiku as my medium of expression.
